Smooth Finish or Cedar Texture: Which Siding Finish Will You Choose?
In our experience over the past 20 years at Exterior Therapy Roofing and Siding, we see more and more, homeowners are becoming aware of the outstanding benefits of installing LP® SmartSide® engineered wood siding on homes and commercial structures. Thanks to the proprietary SmartGuard® process, all LP SmartSide products resist damage from extreme temperatures, moisture and termites. It’s a level of performance that few other siding products can match.
The SmartGuard process offers four components of protection against fungal decay and termites. Wood strands and fibers used in LP SmartSide trim and siding are treated with zinc borate to help protect against fungal decay and termites. The strands or fibers are then combined with special water-resistant waxes and industrial-grade binders and resins. The waxes enhance durability in rainy and humid environments, while the binders provide added strength and durability to the finished product.
Details to Bring Out the Beauty
But LP SmartSide products aren’t just incredibly durable and tough. They’re also beautiful! With LP SmartSide trim and siding, you get the versatility to create a truly custom look for an exterior with multiple profiles and finishes. Lap, panel, soffit and trim are all available in both cedar texture and smooth finishes.
Cedar Texture finish. Realistic, deep cedar-grain texture and defining shadow lines create the look of real wood.
Smooth finish. For a traditional look that accentuates the architectural features of any home, choose smooth finish.
Reversible trim. For greater project flexibility, get reversible trim with the natural look of cedar on one side and a smooth finish on the other.
Cedar Texture or Smooth soffit. LP SmartSide building soffits are a perfect alternative to vinyl, MDO and plywood soffits, in a finish that coordinates with your siding.
Regardless of the finish we help you choose, all LP SmartSide products are pre-primed for excellent paint adhesion. Plus, their 16-foot lengths can result in faster installation and fewer seams for maximum curb appeal.
